Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) is happily married to Adam Barlow (Sam Robertson) in Coronation Street. She has a lovely family set-up, they both have good jobs and essentially, what we’re saying is that Sarah is definitely one character in Weatherfield who’s got it good.
So why on earth does she want to have an affair with Damon Hay (Ciaran Griffiths)?
You read that correctly. Damon Hay – the person who recently made Nick’s (Ben Price) life a living hell by dealing drugs through the Bistro deliveries.
He met Sarah a few weeks ago at a hotel bar. They got talking and it was very obvious they had chemistry but during this moment, Sarah had no idea who she was talking to.
After feeling guilty in the hotel room, Sarah sent Damon on his way but he was interrupted by Adam in the lobby, who had decided he wouldn’t be his legal representative after all.
When Sarah arrived, the penny dropped and she unleashed her anger towards Damon, later telling him that he should stay well away from her.
Ah, famous last words.
Next week, with her car blocked in, Sarah is given a lift to the hotel for her meeting by Damon.
To Sarah’s annoyance, Damon sits at a nearby table but as Lulu the buyer makes disparaging remarks about the designs, he saunters over pretending to be a music mogul impressed by Sarah’s work.
Damon hands Sarah his card with his room number written on the back and after the meeting, she arrives and tears a strip off him for interfering.
Damon’s amused by Sarah’s confrontation and hands her a glass of fizz and, having finished the champagne, Sarah then throws caution to the wind and decides to kiss Damon passionately.
Agh, poor Adam!
This has disaster written all over it…so how long will it last?
