Love Islander Ruchee introduces herself
Ruchee Gurung is hoping to find love this summer when she steps inside the Majorcan Love Island villa for the 10th season of the ITV2 show.
The 24-year-beautician, who lives in Sutton, will be joining a host of other blessed singletons who are also on romance journeys.
She will be flirting, dating and hopefully coupling up with a partner who could potentially win the show with her.
Ahead of entering the villa, Ruchee spoke to Express.co.uk and other media about why she turned down the opportunity to appear on the show in the past.
The beauty shared: “I was scouted through Instagram and they reached out to me a couple of years ago for the Winter [Love Island].
“At the time I was kind of seeing someone and I really liked him and I was really young.
“I just didn’t feel comfortable and I just didn’t think it was the right time, but my friends thought I was crazy not going on the show for this guy.
“But when they reached out to me a couple of months ago, I thought, ‘I’m single, I’ve grown, and I’ve got my s**t together, so let’s just try it.’”

This year’s summer series will be hosted by 28-year-old bombshell Maya Jama who became an instant hit while presenting the latest Winter Love Island.
Maya has replaced Laura Whitmore as the ITV2 show’s leading lady and this will be her first Summer Love Island.
“I think I’m more excited to meet Maya Jama,” Ruchee admitted. “I think she is just so beautiful and I just love her personality.
“I think how she presented the last show as well was so amazing, she did it so well. I am really excited to meet her.”

Ruchee added: “I’m so excited and proud to represent the Asian community, being from Nepal as well, it’s such a small country.
“Not many people know where Nepal is, people just know Mount Everest [is there].”
The Islander has been tipped as the most likely original cast member to take home this year’s crown, according to Paddy Power Games.
Based on the research, she’s the most likely female victor, thanks to her age, hair colour and her job as a beautician – making her an almost perfect match.
The new series of Love Island lands on ITV2 and ITVX on June 5 at 9pm.
