Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) is on a mission in Emmerdale tonight as he seeks out a showdown with Victoria Barton’s (Isabel Hodgins) rapist Lee at the car showroom where he works. With Robert determined that he won’t get away with what he’s done, despite Victoria wanting to let the matter drop and focus on her pregnancy, he tells Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) that he is going to try and get a confession.
Aaron opts to go with him so that things don’t get out of control. As they arrive at the showroom, Robert has to keep himself under control when he comes face to face with a smooth talking Lee.
When Lee then suggests a test drive, Robert has an idea and as Aaron sits in the back and starts recording the conversation, Robert starts to question an increasingly uncomfortable Lee.
But will Robert keep his temper in check – and will he get the answers he wants out of Lee? Or will his plan go wrong?
Next week, Victoria gets contact from the police after posters branding Lee a rapist are spread across the cars at the showroom and she is furious at her brother for his actions, telling him he has betrayed her trust and made things worse.
As Robert fears he has gone too far, can he listen to his sister and stand by what she wants? Or will his thrist for revenge against the man who raped Victoria continue to drive him to take drastic action?
It was recently reported that Ryan is set to leave his role as Robert after five years in the show and fans are now speculating that his anger at Lee could trigger his exit storyline.
Robert’s exit is not due to air until much later in the year – so anything can happen before then.
While Robert’s heart is in the right place and comes from a place of love for his sister, could his own rage be his final downfall?
Emmerdale continues on Friday 14th June at 7pm on ITV.
