Nene Leakes and Kenya Moore from The Real Housewives of Atlanta are working overtime this season. The ladies are not only feuding on the Bravo series but they have taken their animosity outside of the reality show.
As the housewives promote their season 12, they have been making appearances and talking about the rifts with their co-stars. After Moore was a guest on The Wendy Williams Show, Leakes gave the show’s host a call to give her side of the story.
What did Kenya Moore say about Nene Leakes?
When Moore was a guest on Williams’ show she spilled the tea on her friendship with Leakes. Although the former Miss USA beauty queen does not know why exactly they distanced themselves, she does know when it all started.
“When I had a high-risk pregnancy, that I wanted my entire life, she never once called me,” Moore told Williams. “When I did show up, she never checked on my child. She never said, ‘Is everything okay?’ when she learned I wasn’t going to be on the show. She never said, ‘Are you okay girl, do you need anything?’ And then when she did see me eight months pregnant, she called me a monster and said that my child was a buffalo and she was hurling insults.”
The animosity between the RHOA stars kept brewing throughout the season. Things got so tense that Leakes almost spat on Moore and audiences will get to witness that moment later on in the show.
“She tried to act like she was going to spit on me,” Moore revealed saying that the OG of Atlanta was “hawking up” her saliva. “You will see that on the show.”
Moore also took a jab at Leakes saying she was not the highest-paid peach on the Bravo series. The topic came up after the latter suggested the former was returning to RHOA to get her paycheck.
“Kandi makes the most money, so if I was coming for anybody’s purse and bag, it would be Kandi’s,” Moore said. “Kandi is the real HBIC on that show. I’m just a player. I have a nice coin. I love the little bag I take home at night and it feeds my child very well. So I’m not coming for anybody’s money.”
Nene Leakes calls Wendy Williams
Williams and Leakes had been on bad terms for a while until they both rekindled their friendship over the summer. After the Moore interview aired, Leakes gave Williams a call to sort things out.
“After Kenya left, I’m on my way home commuting and the phone rings, who do you think it was? Nene,” Williams told her co-hosts the next day. “Nene’s like, ‘Wendy, I didn’t even watch, but my phone was blowing up. First of all, I didn’t spit in her face.’”
Williams told Leakes that Moore said she “hocked a loogie.”
“I told NeNe, ‘You’re my friend. Kenya’s a friend on the show,’” Williams continued. “Two totally different things. But NeNe was, she was nice, she took it like a champ. She understands our friendship is forged. But she also understands I got love for Kenya.”
Williams told the audience that “Nene is my friend, friend” and “Kenya is my friend to the couch and in my heart.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs every Sunday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo.
