The Great British Bake Off judge Prue Leith has admitted that new presenter Alison Hammond is “fantastic” on the show, but “has no filter”.
This Morning star Alison, 48, is co-hosting alongside Noel Fielding after Matt Lucas announced his departure.
Speaking to OK!, Prue, 83, gushed that she loves working with Alison, adding that she "adores her".
She told us: "She’s energised the show. It’s amazing. She’s such a life-enhancing ball of fire – she’s fantastic.
"She says anything, she has almost no filter, she hugs all the bakers. And she is always the same on set, off set, when she’s in the make-up chair… she’s just herself."
Prue, who judges with Paul Hollywood, added: "The bakers all adore her and, I must say, so do we."
Alison admitted that Prue "loves having another girl" beside her, before going on to say that she and Noel don't plan their scripts.
Prue said: "They hit it off from the very beginning. We have a little buggy and Noel, who cannot drive a car, is terrific in the buggy.
"He and Alison, they’re like a couple of teenagers, having a lovely time whizzing round the park and we’re waiting for them to get on with Bake Off!"
When asked if she felt protective of Alison when she first arrived, Prue continued: "Well, Alison says she was nervous when she arrived, but she absolutely didn’t look it. She was like a duck to water.
"She knew it was a job she could do and that she would do well and so, within seconds, she was terrific and taking the lead."
Bake Off officially announced Alison as Matt's replacement back in March.
Sharing the news on social media, they confirmed: "We’re delighted to announce that Alison Hammond will be joining forces with Noel Fielding to host the next series of The Great British Bake Off on @Channel4 later this year."
They added: "We cannot wait!"
Alison told us she was "really chuffed" to land the gig. "I didn’t realise how much I wanted it until I had to audition with Noel! My son was really excited," she revealed.
The Great British Bake Off is on Tuesday, 8pm, Channel 4
