Strictly Come Dancing viewers were stunned to see Prince Harry on the show tonight, as he made a shock appearance to wish JJ Chalmers good luck.
In a show first, Prince Harry shared a message of support for his good friend in his first UK public appearance since he and wife Meghan Markle stepped down as senior members of the royal family.
Chatting to JJ and his partner Amy Dowden over video link, Harry said: "When I first met JJ he was a shell of himself but then to see you shine through Invictus and to be yourself again, that was the start of an amazing journey.
"You're definitely having an impact on society now especially when you're wearing those tight blue shorts and the socks pulled up.
"It doesn't get better than that!"
Harry added: "I'm genuinely proud. You're not a dancer, proving that you can actually do whatever you put your mind to which is amazing."
JJ quickly gushed praise over Prince Harry, as he gave the royal the credit for changing his life by creating the Invictus Games.
He said: "If Prince Harry had not created the Invictus Games I would not have had that catalyst moment that changed my life forever."
The pair became friends when he first took part in the Invictus Games and have been pals ever since.
Prince Harry's appearance on a BBC show comes at a surprising time, as the channel is currently being investigated for Harry's mother Princess Diana's famous interview with Panorama.
An insider told The Times: "Given what has been going on around the BBC Diana saga and everything that has come out of the other documentaries, Harry’s timing is a little surprising.
"Of all the weeks for Harry to record something on the BBC, this wasn’t it."
However, a spokesperson for Harry confirmed he knew about the Panorama saga but said: "The duke has known JJ for a long time.
"They’ve been in good touch since Strictly started and he was keen to show his support for a friend so they recorded something together earlier this week."
Fans rushed to social media to share their excitement at seeing Prince Harry's appearance on the show, as many said they wished Meghan could have joined him.
Strictly continues on Sunday on BBC.
