Power is one of Starz and Netflix’s most gritty crime thrillers set in the drug underworld of New York City. Now the final series of the popular show is almost upon us and will finally reveal what happened after the dramatic season five cliffhanger. Omari Hardwick will be back as Ghost alongside Joseph Sikora as Tommy Egan as viewers head back into the world of revenge and betrayal one final time.
What time is Power season six released on Netflix?
The first episode of season six will be released on Netflix tomorrow (August 26).
Episodes of Netflix Originals are usually released on the streaming platform at 8am BST.
Based on what happened with the release of season five, new episodes of the show should be uploaded at the same time to the platform.
However, a Netflix spokesperson confirmed to Express.co.uk that as Power is a Starz show, it may not be released in the same timeframe.
Often when the shows are uploaded to the streaming platform is dependent on when they are provided by individual distributors.
After the first episode has aired, fans will be able to watch the show weekly on Mondays.
Fans in the US will be able to watch the season six premiere tonight at 8pm ET on Starz.
If they are subscribers with access to the Starz app, they will already be able to preview the show.
Although, ahead of the release, producers have revealed that the whole sixth series will not be released this year.
For the first time, they have decided to split the 15 episodes across two outings.
The first 10 episodes will be shown this year with the final five episodes broadcast next year.
What will happen in Power season 6?
WARNING: This section contains spoilers for Power seasons 1-5
Season six of Power will pick up from the dramatic ending of the previous series, which saw major character Angela Valdes (played by Lela Loren) shot.
This came after Ghost (Omari Hardwick) betrayed his best friend Tommy Egan (Joseph Sikora).
The murder attempt happened after Cooper Saxe (Shane Johnson) revealed to Tommy he had been manipulated into killing his father Tony Teresi (William Sadler) by Ghost.
As a result, Egan came up with the plan to shoot his friend as revenge.
However, he missed him and instead shot Valdes, just as Ghost was admitting he was still in love with her.
The latest episode is expected to reveal the fate of her character within the first few minutes.
The official synopsis for the final series reads: “It picks up with James ‘Ghost’ St Patrick seeking vengeance.
“His former drug partner and brother in arms must pay for the ultimate betrayal.
“Rocked to his core by the perfidiousness and cruelties of those he once called his family, Ghost devotes himself to one notion: success is the best revenge, with all intentions of getting both.”
Power season 5 is available to stream on Netflix tomorrow (August 26).
