Holly Willoughby shocked viewers when she announced earlier this year that she would be co-hosting a new BBC game show without Phillip Schofield. Alex Jones and Ronan Keating sat down with the star on The One Show as she revealed what it is really like working with Bradley Walsh.
Presenters Alex and Ronan welcomed Holly to the show to discuss her new show with Bradley Walsh.
Ronan introduced her, saying: “She is very well known as one half of a very famous pairing but she shocked everyone recently when she revealed that she’s got a new presenting partner.”
“Here to explain herself, here’s Holly!” Alex joked.
Ronan revealed that viewers online were “not happy” with Holly seemingly parting from Phillip for a while.
Alex explained that Phillip sent in a video with his reaction, and the This Morning star said: “Wow, that happened quickly.
“You wake up for the summer and, the next thing you know, you’re with another man!”
Holly began laughing hysterically as he continued: “Okay, it’s fine. I’m obviously devastated but I want the dog and the CD collection,” a jokingly serious-faced Phillip signed off.
The studio laughed and Holly exclaimed: “That’s amazing!
“I’d love to say I’ve traded him in for a younger model but that’s not the case with Bradley Walsh.”
“Holly, say it ain’t so,” Ronan asked her.
However, the This Morning presenter quickly confirmed that “it’s not happening, no one is being traded in.
“I’ve got enough love in my heart for these two men, one on ITV and one on the BBC.
“It’s kind of perfect, I’m like the sandwich in the middle,” Holly remarked.
After a clip of Holly and Bradley’s new show Take Off was revealed, Alex laughed at the sight of her on a conveyor belt in heels.
“Normally, Bradley hogs that conveyor belt and I was like, ‘Right, it’s my turn, I can do this in heels’, and I was fine,” Holly responded.
The star later joked that working with co-star Bradley is harder than it seems.
She stated: “Most of my job on that show is kind of babysitting Bradley Walsh.
“He really is a law unto himself.”
“He is a complete joy to work with but a complete nightmare,” Holly revealed to Alex and Ronan as they laughed.
Ronan then asked her if Bradley had tried the “conveyor belt in heels” himself.
The ITV host quickly replied: “No he has not and let me tell you, if he did, he wouldn’t be as good as me!”
Holly and Bradley’s new game show Take Off will follow a handful of audience members as they compete for the chance to win a dream holiday of their choosing.
Take Off will be a four-episode series and will debut on BBC One on July 24.
The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
