Peter Kay will be returning to our TV screens for the first time in two years.
The Car Share star will be taking part in a charity special for BBC coronavirus charity night.
Called The Big Night In, it will merge Comic Relief and Children In Need to lift our spirits as many people are currently in lockdown.
The three-hour event will also include surprises, amazing giveaways and live music performances from the artists’ homes.
The Phoenix Nights creator will be among the star-studded line-up providing laughs and entertainment for viewers on 23 April.
Comedian Lenny Henry announced the stars getting involved on The One Show on Tuesday, with Catherine Tate and Gary Barlow also on the bill.
‘Comic Relief and Children in need, for the very first time, are merging to raise spirits and raise money and give away some special prizes in this terrible crisis,’ he said.
Charlotte Moore, Director BBC Content said: ‘BBC One will bring the nation together for this special one off live charity event.
‘I would like to thank both BBC Children in Need and Comic Relief for joining forces in these unprecedented times to provide their support to local charities, projects and programmes across the whole UK ; and to all of the stars taking part in this unmissable night of entertainment when the country needs it most.’
The 46-year-old was last on our screens in the comedy Car Share, which ended in May 2018.
He was set to return to the stage with his new Dance For Life tour to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
It came three years after he cancelled his tour due to ‘unforeseen family circumstances’.
However he had to postpone his stage comeback due to the coronavirus pandemic.
A statement posted on Kay’s Twitter read: ‘Due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak and following government advice, it is with deep regret that the forthcoming Peter Kay’s Dance For Life shows are being postponed.
‘We are looking to reschedule the shows so please hold onto your new tickets as they will be valid for the news dates. ‘We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause but the safety of the public is paramount.’
Kay himself added: ‘Obviously this is disappointing news but well and truly justified given the circumstances. We’ll get through this, together and then we’ll all have a great big dance for life.
‘Stay safe and look after yourselves and the people around you.’
The Big Night In airs 23 April on BBC One.
