Najwa Nimri’s run as Alicia Sierra has come to an end with the release of Money Heist, or La Casa de Papel, season five, volume two. The Netflix series has come to a close, but fans are still keen to learn all they can about its stars. Nimri was a fan favourite for her portrayal of the no-nonsense Alicia, who was heavily pregnant for most of the show’s run.
Does Najwa Nimri have children?
Najwa Nimri is the breakout star of Money Heist, with some fans even going as far as to want a spin-off for her character.
Alicia was an immediately recognisable character, as she was eight months pregnant for two seasons of the show.
The Spanish star keeps a lot of her personal life private on social media, but she has shared some details about her family.
At 47-years-old, Nimri is married to Daniel Calparsoro, the Spanish film director known for his films Blinded, Salto al vacio, and Combustion.
The couple has one child together – their son named Teo Nabil who was born in 2004.
Nimri and Calparsoro have not given any interviews together, nor have they shared any details about their family life with their fans.
They met on the film Salto al vacio, which was directed by Calparsoro, and was also Nimri’s first major movie role.
Outside of cinema, Nimri is also a singer, with the star forming the band Najwajean with Carlos Jean back in 1996.
Singing seems to run in the family, as Nimri also has a cousin who is a singer named Alexander Nimier.
Today, Nimri lives in Madrid, Spain, with Calparsoro and their son, Nabil.
The star continues to perform music to this day, juggling both her acting and musical careers.
According to Nimri’s IMDb, the star only has one acting project in development at the moment.
She is set to star in the upcoming Spanish series Sagrada familia, though details on the project remain vague.
Of course, Money Heist introduced the actress to an international audience, with Money Heist remaining the project she is most well known for.
Her character was divisive at first, as she was the one responsible for the capture and torture of Rio (played by Miguel Herran).
In the end, the police turned on her, framing Alicia for all their mishaps across the previous seasons.
This led her to find the Professor’s (Alvaro Morte) hideout, though he ultimately convinced her to switch sides.
The final season sees Sierra working alongside the team, but for her own reasons outside the group.
She proves to be essential to the Professor’s final plan, providing the final piece of the puzzle he was looking for.
Money Heist seasons 1-5 are available to watch exclusively on Netflix.
