There is currently a lot of secrecy surrounding the Knight family in EastEnders, which Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) is determined to get to the bottom of.
Ever since his arrival, Linda has been unable to trust patriarch George (Colin Salmon), and has become suspicious to the point of obsession over the circumstances of his wife’s sudden disappearance.
We can hardly blame her, as we’re also chomping at the bit to find out what really happened those nine years ago, even more so following the announcement that EastEnders will be airing the family secret in episodes that won’t be available on iPlayer from 6am…
In tonight’s (June 19) episode, Linda reached out to George’s new friend Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden) in the hopes that he could get to the bottom of the mystery of Rose’s whereabouts.
In a less than subtle manner, Linda asked if George had mentioned his ex-wife to Phil, before explaining that they’d have to meet later so that she could explain her theory that George had something to do with her disappearance.

Intrigued, Phil met with Linda in the café, where he explained that it didn’t take much for a person to go missing of their own accord.
Unconvinced, Linda pointed out that that may be true for Phil and his criminal background, but she wasn’t prepared to accept that someone would go to all the trouble of making themselves disappear for no good reason.
She explained that she believed Rose must have been running from something big, and that she thought it was weird for George to still be obsessing over her letters.
She then suggested that in the best case scenario he must have been so abusive that it drove a mother to leave her two children.
When Phil asked what the worst case was, she admitted that she was worried George had murdered Rose.
When Phil seemed unconvinced, she revealed that she had a gut feeling, and the last time she had a feeling like this was with Janine.
She revealed that she wasn’t prepared to leave things too late this time, and urged Phil to help her.
Finally convinced, Phil agreed to look into it, turning to Callum Highway (Tony Clay) for help and asking him to look up both George and Rose on the police database.
With Callum convinced that he will just do a quick search to put Linda’s mind at rest, will he be shocked by what he sees?
Is there something sinister going on?
With the episodes set to be broadcast with no early release, we’re certain that a big twist will lie ahead…
