Fredrik Eklund from Million Dollar Listing New York has always been a proud father. His twins are clearly the apple of his eye as he proudly shares photos and videos of the adorable twins to Instagram on a regular basis.
But recently, he was bursting with extra pride and love when he shared that the toddlers are approaching their second birthday. He and husband Derek Kaplan recently relocated their family to Los Angeles, California. The move was played out during the latest season of the show, which meant both prosperity but also drama for the broker.
While Eklund wasn’t sure if relocating was the right move for his family, he took the plunge. Now his family seems to be adjusting very well to the La La Land lifestyle as he prepares to welcome age two for Milla and Freddy Jr.
Eklund takes stock over the past two years
In a heartfelt post, Eklund shared his love and emotions over having the twins in his life. “When the twins are about to turn two I naturally getting sentimental and nostalgic. Looking back at the two most amazing AND most difficult years of life and I feel so proud.”
He adds that while the last two years have been blissful, he learned that parenthood is tough … especially when you are raising twins. “Twins is no easy task, it’s definitely double or triple the work but sometimes I think it’s four times the love,” he continued. “We really gave them all since the very start – and I always remind med myself I only have one shot at this. This is it!”
Eklund wrote that he is appreciative of every day he has with his children too. “Every day, every kiss, every moment counts with them because that’s all they need – love.”
He jokes about how his daughter is his twin
Like most parents, Eklund says he is giving parenthood his all. “I can honestly look back and say I did the best I could ever have done. Now with their birthday coming up, they are strong, tall, and so sweet – but opinionated, talk a lot about a lot – and they are tough.”
In fact, he sees a lot of himself in his daughter too. “They make us laugh a lot because they think they’ve got it all figured out. Milla orders me around, ‘Dada, C’mom, C’mon here, sit HERE!’ I wonder who she gets it from 🤣.”
Eklund admits there were days where he felt like he was in over his head. And like many parents, he didn’t realize he should ask for help. “Yes, there were many times I felt like I was about to give up, or it was simply too intense and I would ask for help (which I’m bad at), but today I’m writing this as their taking their lunch nap, I know the best is yet to come,” he concluded. “I thank God every day for giving us these angels. They truly are two miracles. I will never take any of it for granted.”
