David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) and Shona (Julia Goulding) were pleasantly surprised when Max (Paddy Bever) revealed he had made a new friend at Maria Connor’s (Samia Longchambon) meeting in Coronation Street.

The meeting in question was about rehoming refugees and involved Daryan, a young lad the same age as Max and who is also from Iraq.

Sadly though, Max doesn’t look set to continue his friendship with Daryan, as David’s attempt at getting his son back into Weathy High goes awry.

Before this, Max takes part in his school project on displacement by interviewing Daryan and learning all about his life.

Meanwhile, David and Shona are disappointed when Mrs Crawshaw informs them that Max cannot return to Weatherfield High as they’ve now ran out of places.

Once David and Shona break the news to Max, he’s devastated to learn that Daryan is also starting at the school and concludes it must’ve been him that stole his place.

But will Max see the situation differently so he can continue his friendship with Daryan?
