Celebrity MasterChef 2022: Lisa Snowdon crowned as the winner

Across six weeks, Masterchef judges John Torode and Gregg Wallace will be putting their taste buds to the test, as they discover which celebrities have the palate and skill to chop.

Love Island star Dani Dyer is taking on the challenge and recently admitted that her co-stars became “jealous” of her after she was given a chair to sit on.

During filming for the show, Dani was six months pregnant with her twin daughters Summer and Star, meaning she was given special treatment by producers.

Dani joined Morning Live presenters Gethin Jones and Helen Skelton on Wednesday morning and was asked whether the contestants were allowed to eat one another’s food.

After Dani revealed they weren’t, Helen joked: “You should have played the pregnancy card, you were eating for three at that point, whipping around everyone’s table.”

Dani laughed and admitted: “I know, I did get a stool, everyone was proper jealous because I got to have a little chair to sit on.”

Touching on why she decided to take on the challenge despite being pregnant, she explained: “I think there are just things that you always have to have on your bucket list.

“Going on Masterchef was just something that I always wanted to do and doing it when you are pregnant, I definitely don’t do things by halves.”

Dani stars alongside The Inbetweeners actor James Buckley, comedian Marcus Brigstocke, TV and radio personality Richie Anderson, and former Gogglebox star Mica Ven.

Contestants to come in the later weeks include Emmerdale actress Amy Walsh, Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer Dianne Buswell, Singer Jamelia, Love Island’s Luca Bish, The Wanted singer Max George and former glamour model Sam Fox.

But which celebrity will take home the crown following the six-week battle in the kitchen?

Dani will be following on from last year’s winner presenter Lisa Snowdon after beating McFly’s Danny Jones and All Saints’ star Mel Blatt in the finale.

She announced her involvement on the series through her Instagram page, posting the official BBC image of her in the apron and captioned it: “Sooo excited to let you all know that I’m gonna be on this year’s #CelebrityMasterChef.” (sic)

Celebrity Masterchef series 18 begins tonight from 8pm on BBC One.
