Martin Fowler (James Bye) is left in complete and utter shock in EastEnders next week when he’s notified by the police that Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) is pregnant.

The market trader, as viewers know, has been kept in the dark about Lily’s pregnancy by ex-wife Stacey (Lacey Turner), who made the discovery herself earlier this week.

12-year-old Lily initially refused to disclose any information on the identity of the father, but the police were soon involved due to her age, and she was subsequently questioned by the authorities about how she became pregnant.

Stacey, meanwhile, pleaded with Lily to open up and, after some encouragement from Jean (Gillian Wright), Lily did just that, confirming that Ricky Mitchell (Frankie Day) is the dad.

The mother and daughter duo shared a heart-to-heart, with Lily asking Stacey to keep shtum about the father’s identity, and Stacey agreed to do so, but with social services set to investigate, she’s going to have to go back on her word.

Before the investigators arrive, Stacey calls a family meeting, summoning her nearest and dearest to tell them all about Lily’s pregnancy.

Martin, however, is nowhere to be seen, and Stacey struggles to get a hold of him, but the fruit-and-veg stall holder soon finds out the truth about Lily from the police, who arrive at Sharon Watts’ (Letitia Dean) home to interview him.

The Slaters reel following Stacey’s revelation, while Martin barges in and rages at Stacey, upset that he wasn’t notified sooner.

Lily, meanwhile, is left feeling ashamed, and as tensions flare between her parents, she slips out – something which goes unnoticed by her loved ones.

The 12-year-old’s disappearance soon comes to light, and the family subsequently search high and low, hoping to locate her.

Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) and Freddie Slater (Bobby Brazier), meanwhile, are interviewed by the police, and the latter lets slip that Stacey knows the identity of the baby’s father!

Lily is located, and subsequent scenes will see Stacey and Jean trying to keep brave faces in front of her, but she knows that something is up – and her suspicions are proven correct when the police arrive early to discuss things further.

Stacey, however, is adamant that Lily can trust her, and hides her in the kitchen as a result. Martin, meanwhile, struggles to process the news of Lily’s pregnancy and later raises the subject of abortion with her – but she drops a bombshell.
