EastEnders actress Louisa Lytton isn’t ruling out a return to the BBC soap after leaving her role as Ruby Allen in 2021.
Ruby first appeared in Walford back in 2005, where she stayed for a year before departing.
In 2018, she returned and became involved in some harrowing storylines, including one centred around the topic of consent.
Louisa left EastEnders ahead of the birth of her daughter Aura, who she shares with husband Ben Bhanvra, but two years on she has hinted that character Ruby could still go back to Albert Square.
Speaking to OK! Magazine, she revealed that a return was ‘definitely’ possible, ‘storyline wise’.
‘I definitely could do it storyline-wise. Ruby was pregnant [when she left], so there’s a baby potentially waiting to turn up in Walford,’ Louisa teased.
‘James Bye, who played my husband [Martin Fowler] at the time, is still in the show. So, who knows? EastEnders was where I started out and I loved it there, so I’d never say never.’
However, her return may not come immediately, as Louisa has recently announced her next project away from the Square.

From September, the actress is set to star in the UK tour of 2:22 A Ghost Story, taking on the role of Jenny.
Louisa took to Instagram to announce her new role, with fellow EastEnders stars rushing to the comments to share their excitement.
‘I can’t tell you how excited I am for this,’ Lola Pearce star Dannielle Harold wrote, while Tamzin Outhwaite and Balvinder Sopal both left clapping emojis.
Zack Hudson actor James Farrar wrote, ‘Yessss Lou’, while Milly Zero, who played Dotty Cotton, said: ‘Congrats Lou.’
Following her run in 2:22 A Ghost Story, could Louisa be set to return to EastEnders? We’ll have to wait and see.
