LOVE Island's Lucie Donlan has exclusively told The Sun Online that she and Joe Garratt secretly gave their romance another go after leaving the villa- but have now split AGAIN.
Speaking to us at The Sun's Love Island finale screening party, sponsored by Sun Bingo, the surfer chick revealed that the second shot at love just didn't work out.
"Me and Joe are just friends," the 21 year-old explained at the bash, which took place at London's Tropicana Beach Club. "We tried to see if anything was there but he's so lovely, we're just going to be friends."
But the blonde insisted that the relationship not working out has nothing to do with any lingering feelings for runner-up, Tommy Fury.
"I'm over Tommy," she stressed. "I won't be pursuing him again, I'm so over that."
Lucie's revelation about trying again with Joe confirms his previous hints that the pair were trying again.
When Joe, 21, and Lucie were spotted snogging after leaving ITV's summer bash earlier this month, Heart radio host Mark Wright secretly called the lad on air to grill him about the state of affairs.
Mark asked Joe: "Has anything happened at all romantically? Have you kissed Lucie since the ITV party this week?"
Joe, who had no idea he was on air, admitted: "We might have had a little kiss. That’s between me and you though right? Between me and you."
But while Lucie has clearly decided the pair are better off as pals following their attempts at reigniting their flame, it seems Joe would like to be more than just mates.
Also speaking to us at last night's event, Joe revealed his sadness that things haven't worked out romantically between him and Lucie.
He admitted: "We kissed at the ITV summer party after getting close again outside of the villa. I really like her, but she's doing her own thing right now."
Joe went on to suggest it was Lucie's decision not to progress their romance after giving things another shot.
Lucie was torn between Joe and boxer Tommy Fury during the first week of the ITV2 dating show, ultimately choosing to couple up with Joe before Tommy found love with Instagram influencer Molly-Mae Hague.
Before Joe was brutally dumped from the villa he came under fire for expressing concern about Lucie's friendship with Tommy, admitting that he felt she still had feelings for him.
When Lucie confessed that she had a crush on Tommy weeks later, the 22-year-old hunk wasted no time in issuing a savage response on his social media page.
He tweeted: "Always trust your gut instincts."
Lucie was later kicked out of the show after enraging fans when she broke down in tears as Tommy asked Molly to be his girlfriend.
She then raised eyebrows when she refused to give up on a romance with the hunk during her exit interview – insisting that they might stand a chance in the outside world.
