The former Love Islander slammed reports he’s hanging up his boxing gloves in order to cash in on his newfound fame.
The younger brother of famous boxer Tyson “Gypsy King” Fury, Tommy Fury, 20, had reportedly decided, according to The Sun, that he wanted to concentrate his efforts on upcoming work projects after his stint in the villa.
However, Tommy took to Twitter and revealed he has no plans to quit the sport.
Writing to his 107,600 followers, he put: “Just wanted to clarify that I have not quit boxing.
“The sport has been and continues to be a driving force in my life and I have goals and targets that I want to and will achieve in the sport. God bless.”
However, 24 hours previously a source told the publication how Tommy was planning on stepping away from the ring, and making some serious dough from other lucrative deals.
An insider said: “Tommy knows he is in a unique position with work opportunities coming out of his ears.
“He has TV projects on the table, as well as lucrative branding deals, so wants to concentrate on those for a year so he can set himself up for the future.”
They continued: “He knows that if he makes enough capital he can invest in his future, whether it’s property or training, and re-focus on boxing later.
“Molly is supportive and just wants Tommy to be happy.”
And, compared to other Love Islanders – namely Anton Danyluk, Michael Griffiths and Danny Williams – Tommy has shied away from personal appearances in obscure clubs in cities across the UK.
Ditching the throngs of fans, Tommy instead went on a low-key cinema trip with his girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague.
In a video he uploaded to his Instagram story, which saw him cosy up to Molly-Mae and cuddly toy Ellie-Belly in bed, he sweetly captioned the post “goodnight from the fam”.
