Love Island star Jacques has been accused of feeling as though he has authority over former flame Gemma Owen.
Jacques entered the villa as a bombshell last week and rocked the other islanders when it was revealed he was the 19-year-old's ex-boyfriend.
Speaking about their past relationship, which Gemma confirmed was a year-and-a half ago, she confirmed they dated for eight months.
Although since he entered the Spanish villa, fans have noticed there still seems to be chemistry between the two of them despite her being in a couple with Luca.
Talking about the situation on the Love Island: The Morning After podcast, host Arielle Free states she feels as though Jacques believes he has authority over his ex.
Over the past few episodes, we've seen Gemma stray from Luca slightly as she wants to slow down their romance.
However, some viewers have speculated she's started to drift from her partner ever since Jacques entered the villa.
Podcast host Arielle said: "Luca though I think is head over heels smitten. Do you think he's going to kill off what she's instructed?"
To which Kem replied: "I don't think he's got it in him to cool off."
Joining the two hosts on their podcast was relationship expert Annabelle Knight who explained the 23-year-old has to "tread carefully" with Gemma so she doesn't feel suffocated by affection.
She said: "Gemma is someone who is thinking "I like this guy, but do I want to spend all of my time with him?"
"Probably not, she's gone on Love Island, she's 19 and wants to have a really good time."
They then spoke about the situation regarding Luca and Jacques, who have formed a close friendship despite him being Gemma's ex-boyfriend.
Arielle said: "Jacques, in my opinion, I feel like he feels he always has authority over Gemma. Like he knows what she wants and what she likes and how she's going to react."
Listeners could hear her co-host Kem agree with her thoughts on Jacques as he said "yeah" in the background.
Arielle then mentioned the "highlight" of the week where viewers saw Gemma accidentally call Luca Jacques.
As the islanders all gathered around the kitchen following Afia's dumping, Luca went to hug Gemma.
Although suffering a major slip of the tongue she accidentally called him Jacques, while he was sat directly opposite them.
Luca walked off frustrated at the blunder while Jacques told Gemma she needed to go and apologise.
Speaking at the firepit, tensions were high as the 19-year-old stated it was a "genuine mistake".
However, on the podcast Annabelle said mistaking his name was a positive thing as it shows her feelings.
She said: "What you're actually seeing is Gemma experiencing feelings she experienced before. Since their familiar feelings of lust, love or fondness, she's going back to the first or last strongest relationship she had those feelings for."
