LOVE Island's Amy Hart has revealed that she's reached out to support Molly-Mae Hague after her poverty comments.

The 29-year-old star, who appeared on the same series of the hit ITV2 reality show with Molly-Mae in 2019, said that she sent her a "little message" following the backlash from her “tone deaf” remarks about success.

Amy said she wouldn't be able to comment on Molly-Mae's remarks because her loyalties are with her reality contestant pal – but said she's been in contact with the star.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Amy said: "Can I not comment on it, just because Molly is my friend.

"We do message on Instagram and I sent her a little message since it happened."

Amy, who attended the premiere of Cirque Du Soleil's LUZIA at London's Royal Albert Hall with her boyfriend Sam Rason, said she is "happier than ever" with her blossoming romance.

Beaming about her new romance, Amy said: "It's all good, going really well. It's coming up to a year now.

"We are happier than ever. I have a house in Worthing, he lives in Potters Bar, it's just trying to work between the two."

Last year, Amy revealed that she had frozen her eggs.

Early menopause runs in her family, with mum Sue, 51, aunt Jane, 53, and nan Doreen, 75, having all gone through it in their early forties.

Molly-Mae recently hit headlines after she was slammed for comments she made about her success on The Diary Of A CEO podcast which went viral last week.

Since shooting to fame on the fifth season of Love Island three years ago, the 22-year-old has become one of the ITV2 show's biggest success stories

Molly had told host Steven Bartlett that "we all have the same 24 hours in the day" while discussing work ethic and opportunities.

But many listeners blasted the comments calling them "tone deaf".

After receiving backlash for her comments, Molly finally addressed the fallout and issued an apology on Monday night after staying off social media for four days.

Molly wrote on Instagram: "I wanted to come back on online today as normal but I feel like before I do I just wanted to say this…

"When I say or post anything online, it is never with malice or ill intent.

"I completely appreciate that things can affect different people in different ways however I just want to stress that I would never intend to hurt or upset anyone by anything that I say or do.

"I apologise to the people that have been affected negatively or misunderstood the meaning of what I said in the podcast.

"The intentions of the podcast were only ever to tell my story and inspire from my own experience.

"Love to you all, always x."
