Love Island’s Amy Hart has quit the show and has left the villa.
The 26-year-old reportedly left following her break up with Curtis Pritchard who called time on their romance after he pursued Jourdan Riane while the girls were at second villa Casa Amor, and he couldn’t guarantee his head wouldn’t be turned again.
A source close to Amy told The Sun Online: ‘It was Amy’s decision to walk from the villa as she felt she had gotten as much as she could from the experience.
‘She fell in love, had her heart broken and couldn’t stand the thought of seeing Curtis crack on with other girls while under the same roof as her.
‘She was given therapy and support from the producers at ITV and they felt she was emotionally sound enough to make her own decision. They would never dream of keeping someone in there if they weren’t happy about it.’
A show source added: ‘Amy has decided to leave the villa after she didn’t find love with Curtis.
‘She is a strong woman who knows her own mind and the show has given her the confidence to give finding love on the outside a go.’
The shocking news comes as Amy accuses Maura Higgins of trying to ‘swoop’ in on Curtis in tonight’s episode.
Amy accuses 28-year-old Maura of intentionally encouraging her to ditch Curtis after she urged Amy not to give him a second chance when he pursued Jourdan.
Speaking to Amy, Maura says: ‘From day one, I said that he [Curtis] would have been one of the guys I would have gone for. I do fancy him. I’m an honest person, I can’t hold back, so I did tell him that I liked him.’
Amy replies: ‘But not honest enough to come and tell me first that you were going to do it?’
Maura then says: ‘When I came in here, I felt that out of all the girls here, you were the one that wouldn’t let me in.’
Amy replies: ‘A lot of stuff makes sense to me now. You were one of the most vocal that he didn’t deserve a second chance.’
Maura says: ‘If you honestly think that I’ve done that to swoop in, you’re very wrong.’
Metro.co.uk understands that Amy’s exit will be shown in tomorrow night’s show.
Tonight’s episode will see two couples savagely dumped from the island.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
