If you thought you needed to wait another year for your Love Island fix, fear not as we’ll be treated to another episode this weekend.

The eighth season of the hit ITV2 dating show drew to a close on Monday 1 August, which saw Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu and Davide Sanclimenti crowned as this year’s winners.

Gemma Owen and Luca Bish came in second, while Indiyah Polack and Dami were third.

Meanwhile, viewers were shocked to find that Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page came in fourth.

Following this evening’s exciting final, there will be a reunion episode on Sunday 7 August on ITV2. Kicking off at 9pm, the episode will run for a whole 90 minutes as contestants spill the tea on their post-villa lives.

Previous year’s reunion episodes have seen some extremely awkward scenes – including when Millie Court and Liam Reardon were interviewed alongside Lillie Haynes, who almost broke the pair up after she developed a connection with Liam at Casa Amor.

Meanwhile, in 2018, Hayley Hughes forgot who fellow contestant Alex George even was, while in 2019, Molly-Mae Hague and Anton Danyluk came to blows.

The pair hit headlines at the time after Anton decided to unfollow Tommy Fury’s girlfriend because he claimed he “never spoke to her” in the villa, and denied they were pals.

Addressing his reasoning for unfollowing Molly, he explained at the reunion: “A lot of people have been saying it's because we were voted [out] by Molly and Tommy.

"Listen. In there we have to make very hard decisions where you have to vote for your friends and it's not a nice situation at all, so it's nothing to do with that.

"What happened is, when we're in there, our management or whoever is running our Instagram follows for us.

"Molly came up on my Instagram and I'm sure Molly will agree with this, we've never even spoken in the villa, really."

If the reunion isn’t enough to scratch your Love Island itch, the winter version of the show will be making its return in the New Year.

An insider told Daily Star in May: "Love Island bosses enjoyed the one and only series of Winter Love Island, but it was just before the pandemic raged so was shelved for 2021.

"When they started casting for this summer’s series, they thought: 'There’s definitely enough talent to do a second series again,' so have started the plans for a 2023 Winter Love Island."
