Love Island star Mal Nichol refused to cry over leaving Sammy Root – and here's why.

After she was brutally dumped following a public vote, Mal refused to shed a tear during her exit.

In her final interview, Mal said: "That connection with Sammy was just so innocent and pure, it was lovely. Short, obviously.

"From the moment I first met him to the last night, we had a very mature conversation. He's grown so much. The most amazing thing to see in a person is growth.

"But It would be so weird if I was crying about Sammy, as I just met him. I met him last week. It would be bizarre if I was crying."

The Islander also admitted that she would understand if Sammy wanted to move on with other girls during his villa experience.

She added: "I genuinely did really like him and it could have gone somewhere but we’ll never know.

"He’s there to find a connection and I’m happy if he’s happy."

Meanwhile, Sammy did say that he was gutted to see her go.

During his Beach Hut chat, after the paid said their goodbyes, Sammy said: "There was definitely something special between us.

"And it's going to feel very different without her."

This comes after the ITV show has been hit with a new set of Ofcom complaints.

Angry viewers have been left fuming over Sammy's alleged bullying and Molly's brutal dumping.

Sammy's antics received 66 complaints, and Ofcom released a statement about this that read: "The majority of complaints related to alleged bullying, microaggression and misogyny by Sammy."

Whereas, Molly's shock dumping received 64 complaints.

Molly has since left the villa with her other half Zachariah already cracking on to returning bombshell Kady McDermott.

Kady had to steal someone's man and he was her choice, but she didn't know she would be sending Molly to her villa doom.

Zachariah had confessed to falling for Molly but has since cracked on with Kady and even tried to kiss her on the terrace.

Though this didn't go to plan as Kady rejected him which left Zach having to tell the lads of his embarrassment.
