Despite the fact that Lily Slater (Lillia Turner) is determined to be a good mum and provide for her baby in EastEnders, there are many, many things to take into consideration when it comes to having a baby at a young age – let alone 12.
Lily and Ricky (Frankie Day) are both still at school and legally aren’t allowed to work. This means the Slaters, Mitchells and Brannings will have to be the ones who primarily provide for the baby.
As well as this, Lily and Ricky will both have to ensure they are correctly balancing looking after their child and continuing their studies, as in a few years, they’ll also face the challenge of sitting their GCSEs.

Overall, raising this child is going to be a lot trickier for Lily and Ricky and in upcoming episodes, they’re invited to meet with social services to talk about what lies ahead.
It appears the main topic of conversation during their meeting is money as later in the week, Lily and Ricky attempt to come up with ways to earn more cash.
They lure Theo – Freddie’s (Bobby Brazier) old school teacher – to Walford and when he arrives, Lily tells him about their predicament and that she’s going to tell her new trainers.
Theo reassures Lily and gives her some money, telling her that if Stacey (Lacey Turner) asks, then Ricky earned it by doing odd jobs.
Lily is thrilled that she’s played him, but what is Theo up to?
Will he continue to secretly give her cash?
