Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) is looking to the future after the anniversary of his brother Shakil’s death hits home in EastEnders – and he is about to reach a big decision that could leave Stacey Fowler (Lacey Turner) stunned.
As Kush and Bex Fowler (Jasmine Armfield) reminisce by Shakil’s grave, Bex ‘s emotions run high and she admits her love for Kush, forcing him to rebuff her. While Bex runs away, Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace) is put out to find Kush ignoring her messages.
Kat ignores Kush and attends an appointment with Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) the next day and when Kush turns up, he apologises for being distant and opens up about losing Shakil.
Kat tries to take his mind off of his grief later and he is touched and grateful when she brings Arthur round to spend some quality time with him. But that’s when he makes his decision – he wants joint custody of his son. How will Stacey react to this?
Kat panics over what she has triggered and when Kush invites Stacey and Martin (James Bye) over to talk about it, Kat determines to avoid the topic and bring an early end to the night. But can she stop Kush from bringing it up?
Later, the couple decide that it’s time to make their relationship public and they go about it by sharing a snog in the Queen Vic.
But will Stacey be angry at Kat for planting the idea of joint custody in Kush’s head – and will Kat find herself with divided loyalties?
