After weeks of teasers and TV spots, the official trailer for Hulu’s adaptation of Little Fires Everywhere has finally been released. The preview offers an in-depth look at the upcoming, limited drama series starring Reese Witherspoon and Kerry Washington, who are also executive producers on the project.
The series, adapted from Celeste Ng’s eponymous bestselling novel published in 2017, explores identity, class, secrecy, and most of all, motherhood in its many forms. Witherspoon plays Elena Richardson, a buttoned-up and wealthy suburban mother of four, while Washington portrays Mia Warren, a traveling artist and single mom. After Mia and her daughter Pearl (Lexi Underwood) arrive to the picture-perfect town of Shaker, Ohio, their lives entangle with the Richardsons’ and everything changes.
The cast also includes Joshua Jackson (as Elena’s husband Bill Richardson), Rosemarie DeWitt (Linda McCullough), Jade Pettyjohn (Lexie Richardson), Jordan Elsass (Trip Richardson), Gavin Lewis (Moody Richardson), Megan Stott (Izzy Richardson), Lexi Underwood (Pearl Warren), and Huang Lu (Bebe).
It was first announced in 2018 that Hulu was working to adapt Ng’s bestseller for the small screen. The author is also a producer on the series. Screenwriter and producer Liz Tigelaar—whose past credits include shows like Bates Motel, Casual, Once Upon a Time, and Nashville—is the creator and showrunner.
The first three episodes of Little Fires Everywhere launch on Hulu on Wednesday, March 18. There are eight episodes total.
