Josie Gibson was shocked when she learned that she has actually been brushing her teeth incorrectly all her life.

On Tuesday's instalment of ITV's This Morning, Josie, 38, was joined on the sofa by guest presenter, Rochelle Humes, 34.

In a health segment on the show, the pair spoke to dentist Dr Deepak, who gave them, and the audience at home, tips on the best way to brush your teeth.

Josie said to Dr Deepak: "What's the main thing that people are doing that they are actually doing wrong?"

He answered: "A really basic thing is, if you brush your teeth, try not to rinse with water.

"Let that good stuff in the toothpaste ingredients sit on the teeth for at least 20 to 30 minutes – that's really important."

An incredulous Josie asked him: "So hold on, you don't swill your mouth out after?" as he confirmed: "No, so the magic thing is spit don't rinse.

"So yes, spit out that excess amount."

Rochelle also looked shocked, as she admitted: "I rinse," to which Dr Deepak said "you're washing away all that good stuff".

Mum of three Rochelle went on: "So once you're brushed, you're saying leave it at that?" as the dentist confirmed it, saying: "You'll see so much benefit from that."

On the same episode of This Morning, Josie was left hot under the collar after seeing Italian icon Andrea Bocelli's son Matteo perform in the studio, to promote his brand-new single Chasing Stars.

After chatting to him on the sofa and then seeing him belt out his new track – Josie was hilariously left swooning over him.

"I cannot believe how tall you are," gasped Josie as the 6'5'' crooner stood up and chuckled back: "This is how they made me! I’m very tall! And I have to accept it!"

"Some people have got it all haven’t they?" quipped the blonde host, before ex-The Saturdays band member Rochelle, 34, pointed out: "He was blessed with the beautiful stick wasn’t he? We’re talking like he’s not here…"

This preceded Matteo's performance for the cameras, which itself sent flutters directly down to Josie's core.

"I’ve gone all gooey… it does funny things to you doesn’t it!" she commented once he'd put the microphone down.

Josie is now one of the golden girls of British television, after landing a more senior presenting gig on This Morning, after originally doing segments in different parts of the country.

The Bristolian is nothing if not humble, and in an exclusive interview with OK! in June, she claimed that her career is a "complete fluke".

She told us: "I didn't think I was even going to go on Big Brother, and then when I got out, I thought that I'd quite like to do some presenting. I wasn’t very good at the start, because I couldn’t see the autocue, but then I had my eyes lasered, and This Morning gave me a chance.

"Fair play to the show – they even stuck with me after I had a panic attack in the studio because I was so nervous. But they really nurtured me and they’ve been brilliant to me."
