Big Brother legend Nicola McLean exposed an “obvious” rules break during her time on the show that TV bosses never caught her for.
Loyal fans of the blonde bombshell will know she first rose to fame as a Page 3 model in the early noughties. It didn’t take long before she won over the hearts of the nation when she appeared on I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here back in 2008.
But arguably, the mum-of-two is most well known for her time in the Big Brother house over the years. The TV star has appeared on the reality show three times throughout her career, first in 2012 where she famously clashed with Denise Welch before she returned in 2017.

As things continue to stir up in the famous TV house, the Big Brother alumni has shared her thoughts on the surprising number of rule breaks so far this series. Speaking exclusively to Daily Star, Nicola revealed there was one major rule break she frequently broke in the house that Channel 5 bosses never caught her out for.
She told us: “I broke the rules when I was in there. Me and Bianca used to write on the mirrors in lipstick and stuff like that, but we were clever. We just didn’t get caught.”
In general, the TV personality confessed she doesn’t mind if housemates broke the rules so long as it didn’t impact the challenges. Nicola went on: “I think if you break the rules in the tasks, that’s just frustrating.
“If you’re all working towards an end goal of getting a luxury shopping budget and then on person blatantly breaks the rules, then it ruins it for everyone.” The doting mum argued that she wasn’t against boycotting the games altogether so long as it was a group effort.
The model went on: “I don’t mind if you want to break the rules, but then let’s all just not do it. What’s the point in us all dressed up as ants if one person is just not playing ball?”
It was at this point that she recalled one instance when the housemates were tasked with not falling asleep for an entire day. Residents were asked to snuggle in a big bed together and resist the urge to sleep while Big Brother played their usual sneaky tactics.
Nicola recalled: “I remember we had a group task and it was like a sleeping task, so we weren’t allowed to yawn, we weren't allowed to sleep. And Ray J, the one that did the sex tape with Kim Kardashian, he forever would be sleeping.

“Now that’s a rule break in Big Brother anyway, you’re not allowed to sleep [during the day], but especially in this task. I just said to Big Brother, ‘Is Ray J a part of this task?
“’Because if Ray J’s a part of this task they we’re going to fail because he sleeps constantly, and I just know he’s not going to play ball. If you’re not including Ray J’s rule break then come on then, I’m fair game, I’ll play the game’.
“And Big Brother just said ignore Ray J, so we were fine. So, I feel like if you’ve agreed to take part and you don’t take part that’s frustrating.
“But silly rule breaks, I’ve got no problem with them. You're in Big Brother, live your life, do whatever you want. I don’t abide by the rules so I’m fine with it.”
