X Factor’s Fleur East is swapping singing for the Salsa dance this week as she appears in 2022’s Strictly Come Dancing.

While the Sax singer is no stranger to the spotlight, with previous stints on popular UK reality TV, East’s relationship with now-husband Marcel Badiane-Robin is still somewhat drenched in mystery.

According to Heart Radio, the two met while East, 34, was working at a nightclub before she shot to fame on X Factor in 2014.

Badiane-Robin, who was born in Senegal and grew up in France before relocating to London, was working as a club promoter at the time.

They had met the year before, in 2009, but East was not single at the time.

Even now, East's Hubby seemingly enjoys his privacy and doesn't seem to have his own social media accounts.

Badiane-Robin has put his business degree to work as the co-founder and creative director of the streetwear brand Elevate London. His clothes have been worn by the likes of Jason Derulo, Rita Ora, and presumably, East herself.

As East’s name gained notoriety from her stint on X Factor, her partner remained fairly obscure, and the two are said to have met secretly between rehearsals. The Walthamstow-born singer ultimately finished second.

Badiane-Robin then made a splash on UK headlines in 2016 after he admitted to handling nearly £14,000 in stolen handbags from Selfridges. While the fashion designer was forced to undergo 250 hours of unpaid work, the judge said it’s “as close as anyone can to going straight to prison."

East initially told UK media that she was in no rush to get married but would definitely say yes if her boyfriend popped the question.

He did just that.

In a social media post from 2019, East revealed: "I’ve literally just landed back in the UK from Japan and I can’t believe I can say that I’m engaged to be a WIFE!!

"My boyfriend Marcel proposed to me while we were in Tokyo. What a trip to remember!"

The two wed in Morocco alongside celeb guests like East’s I’m a Celeb costar Harry Redknapp and ex-JLS band member JB Gill. She wore a J’Aton Couture

The two now live in an apartment in Limehouse, London.
