I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! 2019 retuned to ITV and it was Andrew Maxwell’s turn to take part in the latest Bushtucker Trial – Ark of Agony. Those watching at home saw the Irish comedian enter several small enclosures filled with animals and critters to try and retrieve the all important gold stars. Within 12 minutes he managed to win ten stars and the challenge was clearly tiring for the campmate as he felt he needed to take a nap when he returned to the jungle. But in doing so he failed to complete his assigned chores and this riled up Ian Wright.

For breakfast and lunch, the celebrities each rice and beans and following the lunchtime feed, the washing up needed to be done.

But instead of helping Caitlyn Jenner, Andrew insisted on going to for a nap.

He said: “We’ll do this later rather than do it in the heat of the day.”

Caitlyn was happy for him to go and said she’d find someone else to wash up with her as Andrew had earned the rest. She told him: “Just go take a nap, you earned it.”

Those watching at home then saw Andrew happily sing his way off towards the hammock for an afternoon sleep.

However, many of the campmates overheard the conversation and were not happy.

Disgruntled by finding out how James Haskell was going to assist Caitlyn with the washing up, Ian said: “Come on guys there is no point having an issue about it, it’s a waste of energy.”

Taking himself off to the Bush Telegraph to discuss, Ian continued to rant: “OK so you’ve got the ten stars what are you coming back and going to sleep for, you’ve got a 70 year old woman who is ready to work and you are meant to be working with her, do it with her and then rest.”

On the way down to wash up, James scalded his foot with the hot water he was carrying.

“The hot water just slipped out and poured right into my boot, I couldn’t get my boot off in time and it’s blistered the front of my foot,” he told Caitlyn.

News travelled fast about James’ injury and Ian wasted no time in expressing his opinion.

“James is our leader, he’s too nice and he’s gone down there with two buckets of hot water and scalded his foot because he didn’t do his job and just lead,” the football legend said.

Addressing the others in camp, Ian said: “I’m having to hold myself in now it’s as well I’m not the leader because this wouldn’t be happening, he’d be down there doing it.

“We are grateful for the ten stars but at the same time you can’t get the stars and clock off or there would be anarchy.

“I don’t know how I’m going to let this lie. If this was in our football team you can’t see someone clock off because they’ve done a fantastic thing.”

In order to prove a point, Ian and Roman Kemp noisily replaced the clean washing up to disturb Andrew who was sleeping.

Ian then said to him: “James went to help with the dishes and what I’m saying is that because you got the stars, Caitlyn wanted to do it (washing up) and you went to sleep and you didn’t do your job. We have so much time to sleep.

“Do you understand what I’m saying?”

Andrew agreed that in future “I’ll just do them when she wants to do them in future, no bother my end.”
