Ryder Jackson fears that he could die in Home and Away, after his latest internet video challenge goes horribly wrong.
Viewers have watched Ryder take on a series of video challenges such as chilli eating and coal walking in recent weeks, which he later uploaded to the internet in the hopes of making money.
In his latest plan to make more money and wipe out his debts completely, he and friend Theo Poulos take on another dangerous challenge – but it could have disastrous consequences.
Home And Away spoilers have revealed that Theo plans to bury Ryder alive in a coffin for over five hours, but that the challenge goes horribly wrong.
Talking exclusively to Daily Star about the storyline, Ryder actor Lukas Radovich said: "Generally Ryder is the comic relief, so it was nice to delve into something a little bit deeper – quite literally deeper underground.
"It was really, really fun. Especially working with Matt, it has been a really good time."
Despite the off-screen chemistry being fun, on-screen things take a dark turn when Theo decides to leave Ryder while he goes to buy something to eat.
He later walks Chloe home, but when he starts walking back to where Ryder is buried, he falls into a ravine.
With Theo unconscious and not answering Ryder's calls, Ryder begins to panic and fear for his life.
Will Ryder die? Or will someone find him? And what will happen to Theo?
While Lukas would not give any secrets away, he reflected on Theo's participation in the dramatic storyline, saying: "Matt [Evans] kept on saying that every fan is going to hate his character, because he is burying alive a Stewart. One of the main family members."
He also revealed he and Matt also share a bond off-screen too, after meeting each other years before starring opposite one another in Home And Away.
Lukas said: "I've known him a couple of years as we went to uni together. It was nice to reconnect with him and work on such a big story line."
He added: "I had brief encounters with him at uni, saw him around and when I saw him there I was like, oh cool, great!
"He was originally from Perth and that is where I studied, so I didn't expect to see him in Sydney. It had been a couple of years.
"It has been really cool watching him grow on the show, and I think I'm very lucky to have had so many storylines with him."
Their latest storyline is sure to have viewers wondering whether Ryder will survive, after their video challenges have become more intense.
However, Lukas revealed that like the viewers, even he had no clue what challenge Ryder would be taking on next, saying: "We had about five or six different challenges – walking across coals, chilli eating, all these things.
"I'd read a script and go, oh, guess we're doing that today! That was part of the joy of it as well, not being part of the selection of the stories.
"You can just receive a couple of scripts and realise oh, I'm going to have to practise my chilli tolerance a lot."
However, will Ryder live to take on another challenge? And how will this affect Ryder and Theo's friendship if they do survive? Viewers will have to wait and see.
