Hollyoaks star Hannah Tointon is best known for playing Katy Fox in the E4 soap.
The actress joined the cast back in 2007 and played the role on and off for 10 years until her character's demise in 2017. Katy was central to several storylines, most prominently Clare Cunningham's (Gemma Bissix) revenge.
In July 2016, after her brother Warren Fox (Jamie Lomas) returned to the village, he revealed that Katy had died from a drug overdose, and that he felt immensely guilty as he was in prison at the time of her death. A year later, it was made known that her nephews Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed) and Bart McQueen (Jonny Clarke) supplied her with the drugs, leading to her death.

In recent scenes, Norma Crow (Glynis Barber) tried but fails to encourage a less than enthusiastic Warren to spend time with Ella Richardson ( Erin Palmer). After realising her son lied to her about being busy, Warren admitted he doesn’t want to mess things up with Ella and her to walk the same path as his sister Katy.
Norma took the blame for abandoning him and Katy, just like she was abandoned by her mother and pleaded with Warren to try with Ella. Warren apologised to Ella and the teen accepts it, arranging a day of shopping together. As the fictional family go through another rough patch, Daily Star has taken a look at what Hannah has been up to since leaving the soap.
TV fame
For her role as Katy, Hannah took home the Most Spectacular Scene of the Year award at the British Soap Awards in 2008 and left Hollyoaks the same year after explaining that her intention was always to stay just for one year.
After leaving Hollyoaks, Hannah played not one but two roles in rival soap opera Doctors. In 2007, she played Maxine Brogan and a year later she portrayed the role of Emma Lewis. She has also appeared in Midsomer Murders, Death in Paradise, Call the Midwife, Mr Selfridge and more recently The Midwich Cuckoos.
Soap siren sister
Fans may not know that Hannah has a very famous sister who not only appeared in EastEnders but also won Strictly in 2010. Kara Tointon played Dawn Swann in the BBC soap for four years from 2005 until 2009. The real life sisters played Violette and Rosalie Selfridge, the glamorous daughters of Mr Selfridge in series three of the ITV show.
It was the first time the sisters had acted together, and Hannah told the Radio Times at the time:"We kept on looking at each other and laughing because we couldn't take each other seriously."
Famous fiancé
Katy famously played school girl Tara Brown in The Inbetweeners in 2010 and met her fiancé Joe Thomas, who played Simon Cooper in the E4 sitcom. The couple have been dating since their time on the show, and back in 2017 it emerged that the couple were engaged.
In October 2022, they announced the birth of their first child. Hannah's sister Kara told of her happiness while chatting on Ashley James' Mum's The Word podcast, revealing that the couple were now parents to a baby girl.
Kara said at the time that the new parents were convinced they were expecting a baby boy after the ultrasound-technician even slipped up and said "he". She joked they were 'knocked for six' when Hannah gave birth to a baby girl.
Hollyoaks streams first online via Channel 4 each weekday at 7.30pm. Episodes then air on E4 the following day at 7pm
