WARNING: The following article contains spoilers from Game of Thrones season eight, episode six.
The HBO series’ final ever episode saw Game of Thrones fans fuming as the Iron Throne was destroyed and an elected leader was chosen for the first time in the history of Westeros.
That elected leader was Bran Stark (played by Isaac Hempstead-Wright) and fans were incredibly angry by the decision of bosses Dan Weiss and David Benioff as they felt he had done nothing worthwhile to allow him to claim the throne.
Fans took to Twitter to share their anger over what they believe is the wrong choice for the leader of Westeros.
He’s been so useless in the show

One fan raged: “Good thing @GameOfThrones is over because it would be lame as s**t having to watch Bran Stark rule King’s Landing.”
Another added: “#BranStark ??…. really? We wasted our many years to see Bran The Broken (king)??”
A third fan summed up what fans are feeling about Bran’s character development, writing: “Dude #BranStark should not have gotten that throne. He’s been so useless in the show.
“His potential was there but it was never used right. This season of #GameOfThrones has been so disappointing.”
Someone else agreed he had done nothing to deserve it, continuing: “I don’t even remember what Bran has done for the last seven seasons, except rolling his eyes from time to time.
“One of the dullest, most forgettable characters. And Jon – dumb as a rock. I hate all Starks, apart from Arya.”
Bran was chosen by the Lords and Ladies of Westeros as the first ever elected leader upon recommendation by Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage).
A decision had to be made after Jon Snow (Kit Harington) killed Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) after she was set to claim the Iron Throne and wage wars on other parts of the kingdom.
The Iron Throne was then melted down and destroyed forever by Daenerys’s dragon Drogon so no one else could ever sit on the throne she had wanted to claim her whole life.
Tyrion recommended Bran because of his status as the Three-Eyed Raven, he can see the mistakes of the past and rectify them for a better future.
Bran then chose Tyrion to be the King’s Hand, so that he can rectify his past mistakes.
Fans were generally disappointed by the finale as a whole and took to Twitter to express their frustration over how it all ended.
One fan said: “There’s a difference between the #GameofThrones that gave us moments that shocked us to our core and broke our hearts, and this hollow disappointment of a finale. It was baseless and meaningless closure to what could have been an epic story. More reason to wait for the books.”
Another added: “This will go down as one of the worst series finales in tv history. For sure on the top ten list. #GameOfThronesFinale.”
Game of Thrones season 8 concludes Sunday on HBO in the US and the following day on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK
