The Mandalorian went down a storm with Star Wars fans as the first of the live action spin-offs to come out on Disney+. Focused on the journey of Mando (played by Pedro Pascal) and Grogu, it was thought the sci-fi drama was to end after series two but thankfully, there is more to come. Here’s everything there is to know about The Mandalorian season three so far.
WARNING: This article contains spoilers from The Mandalorian.
Disney+ subscribers have been waiting quite some time to see if The Mandalorian would be back for anymore new episodes.
Season two finished at the end of 2020 and it’s been almost radio silence ever since, leading many to believe the story was done and dusted with.
During Star Wars Celebration though on May 26, 2022, producers Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau revealed there would be third outing.
Even more excitingly, they stated The Mandalorian’s next season would arrive on the streamer in February 2023.
When it does make a comeback, there are going to be some key characters returning.
Star of the show, actor Pedro Pascal, who plays Din Djarin, the Mandalorian himself, will be back along with the lovable Grogu, better known to many as Baby Yoda.
Actress Katee Sackhoff will be returning as Bo-Katan Kryze, after she didn’t take the Darksaber, much to fans’ surprise.
Moff Gideon star Gincarlo Esposito is also going to be back for this upcoming third season, promising to cause more trouble than ever before.
Esposito teased to Metro: “He is that uber villain who is all-powerful and who knows all about the technology and all these other things.
“So suffice to say, you will see Moff again… and soon.”
Mark Hamill stunned fans as, through the use of CGI, was able to reprise his character Luke Skywalker, looking as if he hadn’t aged a day.
There has been no talk of Hamill returning for more but there are bound to be other guest appearances in the third series.

Few clues have been given as to what could happen in the third series but it was the end of The Mandalorian spin-off The Book of Boba Fett which leaned into it.
In the final few moments, Boba (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) are discussing the idea of being heroes with the former stating that they weren’t suited to him.
This is when Fennec replies: “If not us, then who?”
There is then a cute moment where Mando is seen flying off with Grogu, confirming that their adventures are not quite over yet.
Speaking to Total Film, Pascal explained Mando’s mindset ahead of series three.
“If he is stepping into a leadership position, he’s reluctant to do so”, Pascal explained.
“I don’t think that there’s anything more interesting than a character being forced into discovering what they’re capable of, and who they are.
“That part has been really, really fun. Also, from my point of view, there’s so many searchable ways to find the tonality of that.
“I just tried to achieve the subtleties of that kind of character development.”
The Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2 are available to watch on Disney+.
