Eurovision 2020 was planned to be the 65th edition of the iconic Eurovision Song Contest. Sadly, due to the current Coronavirus outbreak, the competition was cancelled for the first time in the show’s 64-year history. Instead, an alternative show will take place titled Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light. Express.co.uk has everything you need to know.
How many songs are in Eurovision 2020?
Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light takes place tomorrow (Saturday, May 16) at 8pm BST.
Across Europe, fans of the singing competition will be able to tune in to the competition via the Eurovision YouTube channel.
This year, 41 songs will be performed by 41 different countries.
Usually, only 26 songs and 26 acts perform in the Eurovision final but instead, all of the 41 songs that would have competed in the 2020 contest in Rotterdam will be heard.

Not only will the original 41 songs from the 41 participating countries be performed, special performances from past winners and beloved contestants will also be shown.
Last year’s winner, Duncan Laurence will also premiere his new single, ‘Someone Else’, during the show.
The 41 entries will also come together from across Europe to perform the 1997 UK winner’s single, Love Shine a Light by Katrina and the Waves.
Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light will be hosted by the 2020 original presenters, Chantal Janzen, Edsilia Rombleyand and Jan Smit.
Graham Norton will commentate for the UK as per usual.
This year, there will no competition and no winner. Instead, Eurovision fans will be able to simply enjoy the weird and wonderful performances.
In a statement, Sietse Bakker, executive producer of Eurovision, said: “We want to make a show that puts a spotlight not only on the 41 artists that were due to appear in Rotterdam but also inspire those at home and connect people from across Europe and beyond in these difficult times.
“Of course, we will also honour those who are affected by the coronavirus crisis and those who work so hard to fight it. Let’s make this an unforgettable moment in Eurovision history!”

How to watch Eurovision 2020 in the UK
UK Eurovision fans will be able to watch Eurovision 2020 from 6.25pm on BBC One.
Eurovision: Come Together will air first at 6.25pm followed by the main show, Eurovision: Europe Shine A Light 2020 at 8pm.
The entire show will also air on BBC One and the BBC iPlayer at 8pm and will last two hours.
You can watch Eurovision 2020 as it airs on BBC or you can stream it live via the BBC iPlayer.
The entire show will be available to stream and download via the iPlayer after it has aired in case you miss it.
Eurovision: Europe Shine a Light starts Saturday.
