Amy Walsh describes her guilt for leaving children for Emmerdale

She’s only been back in the village for a short time, but Tracy Metcalfe (played by Amy Walsh) is making her presence felt.

The newlywed mum of one has ambitions to open a nursery and spoilers released by ITV reveal that next week she sets a boost to that plan when she gets a job offer.

She is delighted when Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles) offers her some part time work at the B&B which will allow her to save money towards her startup costs.

It’s a far cry from 2018 when the pair came to blows over a blue cardigan.

It is just the latest piece of good fortune for her following her recent wedding to Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter).

This being soapland though there is sure to be a spanner in the works soon which seems to have been confirmed by Nate actor Jurell.

“Nothing goes smoothly but we would love the kind of fairytale wedding and fairytale relationship at the same time, he said in an interview with Express.co.uk and other press.

“Even with normal relationships, you go through ups and downs and things like that.

“Who knows we might go through a smooth sailing relationship, but maybe not,” he teased.

Tracy was absent from screens for over a year as Amy took maternity leave having welcomed her first child with former EastEnders star Toby Alexander-Smith, who played serial killer Gray Atkins, in December 2021.

While on screen she appears to be right back in the swing of things the new mum has confessed to finding herself tearful after leaving her child.

“The hair and make-up team are like sisters to me. I’ve cried a few times in the make-up chair out of pure exhaustion or dropping my child off at nursery,” she revealed.

“I went in in tears, and they were like, we won’t do your face first, we’ll do your hair.

Like all first-time mums Amy is still getting used to the sleepless nights confessing that “it’s hard”.

“I thought I used to be tired, I always complained about being tired before, but now I’m like, ‘how am I doing this?’ It’s hard, I’m not gonna lie, but that’s because my child isn’t sleeping at the moment,” she said.

“Just the hours you’re here [on set], you leave at seven and then you’re back in the building at seven.

“You’ve got to bath and bed your child and then make your dinner and then do your lines for the next day, talk to your other half and then get back and go again,” she confessed.

Emmerdale is on ITV at 7pm Monday to Friday
