Emmerdaleactor James Moore has reacted to the recent Woolpack twist that aired on the ITV soap.
In scenes which were broadcast on Thursday 3 February, soap fans watched James’ character Ryan Stocks buy the village pub alongside mum Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) in a shock twist.
The surprise news didn’t go down well with everyone, including former owner Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) who was gutted to be waving goodbye to her home of over a decade.
Now, James has broken his silence on his Emmerdale alter-ego’s next move, revealing Ryan’s plans to ‘modernise’ the Dales boozer in the coming months.
The 29 year old actor said: “I think Ryan may want to modernise the Woolpack and create more of a youthful vibe to the pub.”
“As we know, he is a computer wiz and I expect he will have good ideas for promoting the pub on social media et cetera.”
“The pub is undergoing a large refurbishment at the moment, and I can’t wait to see the changes they make.”
Continuing to tease some of the other things Ryan and Charity will try to implement, James confessed he hopes there is one member of the old team that sticks around.
He revealed: “I always loved Marlon [Dingle, played by Mark Charnock] as a team member in the Woolpack, and I think it’s safe to say at this point he is integral to the pub.”
“I can’t imagine the place without him, so I hope he is involved in the upcoming storylines with Charity and I.”
Meanwhile, James suspects Ryan will play a key part in the business, but he won’t be front and centre of the Woolpack’s new chapter.
He explained: “I think Ryan is taking over more of the behind-the-scenes management in the woolpack, but I imagine he might come out to pour a pint from time to time.”
Meanwhile, the soap star, who previously picked up Best Newcomer at the National Television Awards said it was a genuine honour to have been given the storyline and make his mark in Emmerdale history.

James explained: “I was excited to hear Ryan would be one of the new owners of the pub.”
“It’s a big step for him as a character, especially after losing his mother, and cements his part in Emmerdale history.”
