EMMERDALE star Karene Peters has quit the soap after just a year, The Sun can exclusively reveal.
The actress joined the ITV soap in the summer last year as Vicar Charles Anderson’s long-lost daughter Naomi Walters.
She was immediately thrust into the thick of goings on in the village when she was revealed as one of Nicola King’s attackers.
But after just a year in the soap, actress Karene has decided to leave.
A source said: “Karene’s loved her time on the soap but it is time for her to go.
“Being on Emmerdale was a dream but she became an actor to play different roles and that’s exactly what she wants to do.

“The door isn’t being closed on Naomi so she could always make a return down the line.”
The star’s final scenes will soon be filmed and she will make her final appearance over the summer.
Viewers have watched as Karene’s character Naomi has recently split from Nate Robinson in the show.
She clicked with the hunky farmer after moving in to the house share with him and her brother Ethan.
