In the hopes of raising funds for the church Will Taylor (played by Dean Andrews), faked a break-in on Emmerdale earlier this week, taking items from the church in the hopes of selling them in exchange for cash. But in tonight’s episode (January 7), Harriet (Katherine Dow Blyton) is threatening to go to the police, putting Dawn Taylor’s (Olivia Bromley) chances of getting her son back at risk.
ITV viewers know that Harriet was visited by the new Bishop earlier this week.
She was told that to cut costs the church may soon be closed down and Harriet would have to be relocated to Essex.
Devastated by the news she set about thinking up ways of making money to put towards improvements to the church and keeping it at the heart of the village, but all she could come up with was a charity bucket.
However, in a shocking turn of events, it was revealed that Will had made his own plans to earn the money.

Harriet found out tonight after £2,000 appeared in the appeal box, and she found the stolen and sentimental bible in the back of Will’s car.
Furious she set off to confront Will, threatening to hand him over to the police.
She said: “Even now you’re standing there smiling at me, pretending it wasn’t you who defiled my church.”
Will responded: “What are you talking about?”
She bit back: “I found it (the missing bible) in the boot of your car, I looked for everything else but I presume you’ve already sold that. Why?”
Will explained: “For you. You want to stay here, you said it yourself, how can you let down Dawn again? They were shutting your church, I fixed it.”
At this very moment, Dawn walked in after a meeting with her social worker.
Viewers know Dawn has had a rough year after her son was taken away from her after her struggle with drugs.
Tonight’s episode saw Dawn asking her son Lucas if he wanted to move back in with his mummy, but Will could have just stopped this for good?

Dawn found out what Will had done and was horrified that after all her hard work, this could be what stops her getting full custody of her son.
She said: “They are finally talking about it, about me maybe getting my son back, but if anything changes dad, it gets reassessed. If you go to jail then I could lose him.”
Will replied: “No one will find out, I covered my tracks.”
But Harriet was having none of it and told them both she was going to the police, forcing Dawn to accuse her: “You’ll lose me my son, you’re gonna have to lie please you have every choice, just like the last time you tore my life apart.”
