Emmerdale’s Faith Dingle (played by Sally Dexter) has had viewers on the edge of their seats as she anxiously awaits the results of her recent medical tests to see if her cancer has returned. In recent weeks, Faith has been experiencing a lot of pain and has even collapsed, leading her to believe the disease is back. Next week, she will receive her test results and she’s in for a big shock.
Faith revealed to her family in 2017 she had been battling breast cancer but she now thinks it’s returned.
She recently went to have tests at the hospital to explain the excruciating pain she’s been feeling.
Originally, her children Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) believed the pain was caused by her being intoxicated with alcohol, but Faith kept reiterating this was not the case.
After heading to the hospital to be checked over, Faith decided to keep fears she has cancer again, a secret.
Following the recent passing of Leanna Cavanagh (Mimi Slinger), Faith has been supportive to her great-granddaughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), who has been dealing with major anxiety.
In support, Faith decides she and Sarah will go to the HOP to spend some time together and Sarah invites Cain along without Faith’s knowledge.
While there, Faith receives a call from the doctor confirming her diagnosis.
But when she realises Cain is joining her at the HOP, she decides to keep the news away to not ruin the day.
Cain pesters his mother, demanding if she has had her test results back and eventually gives in and reveals she has them.
Cain is furious with his mother’s choice not to disclose the medical results with him sooner and claims he can no longer trust her.
In a rage, Cain decides to cast out Faith as his mother as he’s disappointed with her urge to lie.
Faith is left distraught as she never intended on hurting anyone.
The relationship between Faith and Cain hasn’t always been smooth sailing. Over the past several years their relationship had been subject to many fallouts.
After her latest betrayal, can Cain forgive his mother and support her on her latest health battle?
Elsewhere in Emmerdale, Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) could be set to kick his sister Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) out of his house.
Following the death of Paul Ashdale (Reece Hinsdale), Liv has had a guilty conscience, believing she played a part in his passing.
While those around her have assured that she wasn’t to blame for his death, she has turned to alcohol to cope.
In the coming scenes, Aaron’s new partner Ben (Simon Lennon) will reveal his father is an alcoholic and has caused plenty of issues for him.
As a result, Ben doesn’t feel comfortable with Liv drinking so heavily in the house.
While he has always supported his sister, Aaron could be about to kick Liv out of the house to be with his new partner.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV at 7pm.
