Emmerdale fans were left in disbelief after Tuesday night's episode revealed the real name of Al Chapman, who had been fatally shot by Cain Dingle in the last episode.
Al Chapman bowed out of the ITV soap after a final showdown with Cain. When police came to arrested Cain for Al's murder, fans were shocked at the statement made by the officer.
The armed officer confirmed Al's real name wasn't Alan or Albert as fans expected, but instead it was Alistair.

Viewers took to Twitter to share their shock at the revelation.
One wrote: "I'm more shocked that his name is Alistair, didn't think that was his name….maybe Alan".
Then another jokingly added: "I so wish Cain had replied who the f*ck is Alister".
Although most viewers were dumbfounded by Al's name reveal, others were more concerned with the fate of another Emmerdale veteran.
Some believe it could be the end for Jeff Hordley's character as he's sent down for killing Al, but others are convinced he will somehow get away with it.
One viewer shared their sorrow at the thought of Cain leaving the show, writing: "If Cain is leaving I’m actually done watching. I can’t lose Cain and Aaron in the same week".
But another quickly responded, saying: "I wouldn't worry. We've already got three or four unconvicted killers roaming around Emmerdale, so no reason to suspect Cain will go down for it."
Theories have flooded in, including ones that claim Cain is covering for someone else who actually shot the gun. Viewers have placed Cain's little sister Belle and Al's girlfriend Kerry as potential suspects in their theories.
One took to Twitter to share their change of events: "I can’t believe Cain got caught ! Let’s twist it and say Kerry did it cause he found out about him and Chas".
While a second said: "I reckon it was Belle! Cain would protect his little sis too which is why he was cleaning the gun".
