In tonight's Emmerdale, what should have been a happy family reunion ended in tears for poor Lydia Hart (Karen Blick) when she got some worrying news about her health.
Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) managed to bring Lydia's birth mother to the village – perhaps the kindest thing she's done since returning to the soap.
And while the mum and daughter duo shared tears over their reunion, the happiness soon turned to sadness when Lydia's mum Agatha (Judith Barker) got onto the topic of her dad.
The conversation happened off-screen, but viewers soon found out what Lydia had been told – that her dad had died of Huntington disease.

And it wasn't just Lydia in tears, as viewers confessed they were distraught watching at home.
One said: "These scenes are bloody lovely. I'm near tears… I'm not even pining for my sun and stars. The power of Karen Blick and her screen mother. Truly good."
Another tweeted: "Lydia's scenes with her mum are making me cry. Karen Blick you are outstanding."

And a third added: "Oh wow Karen Blick is making me sob through my tea."
Earlier on, Lydia's mum explained she'd tried to find her after giving her up for adoption all those years ago.
She said: "All that time you were always on my mind, my focus. I had to get strong again so I could get my Jenny [Lydia's birth name] back."
Agatha continued: "We always talked about you, wondering what you'd become, wondering what amazing things you were doing with your life.

"Then we saw the news about that baby they'd found and saw your picture. Even though years had passed, I knew your face."
After Lydia found out about her dad, she sobbed and said: "People keep popping up out of nowhere telling me stuff I don't want to hear. I want it all to go away."
