Emmerdale fans will know Dawn (played by Olivia Bromley) was stunned last month when Alex (Liam Boyle) unexpectedly arrived, with a nasty plan in mind. Spurred on by evil Meena Jutla (Paige Sandhu), he attempted to abduct their son, Lucas (Noah Ryan Aspinall). Official spoilers from the ITV soap confirm Alex will be back just before the wedding, but what is he planning this time? It seems he could be out to destroy Dawn’s big day.
In December 2021, Dawn came face-to-face with the blast from her past as Alex turned up in the village.
“You look really well, I’m completely clean now, too,” he remarked as he walked into her house.
“He’s just an old boyfriend, and he’s leaving right now,” Dawn assured Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton).
He later revealed his true intentions for showing up out of the blue as he made it clear he was after Lucas.
Meena, who’d been telling Alex that Dawn was using drugs again, convinced him to take the child.
“She let you see him then?” She asked Alex after he’d spent some time with his son.
“What does it look like?” he asked. Manipulative Meena saw Alex as the perfect way to get revenge on Dawn and Billy.
“You must be so relieved,” she commented, feigning that she cared about Lucas.
“I bet they put on a real act for you when you went to pick him up.”
“Yeah, I could tell they didn’t want me there,” Alex agreed.
“Yeah, they don’t want anyone snooping around,” Meena lied.
She added: “They’re scared you’ll start seeing what’s really going on and he’ll be taken away again – that boy’s being neglected.”
She continued: “He needs protecting, and it’s normally the mum who does that but when she’s the one he needs protecting from, the dad has to step up.
“You can’t waste a second, it’s now or never.”
With the evil local’s words ringing in his ears, Alex decided to snatch Lucas.
Eventually, Billy caught up with him before he could drive the youngster away. So what could he be back for this time?
In upcoming scenes, Kim Tate (Claire King) is less than excited about Dawn’s big wedding news.
Trying to cheer her up, Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) encourages her to find something that she can look forward to again.
Harriet is moved when Dawn informs her she’d like to have her as her maid of honour, but she explains they still need a venue.
Kim decides to offer Home Farm as a potential choice, leaving the bride thrilled.
Her Dawn’s excitement is short-lived though, once she spots Alex.
He pleads with her to let him explain his previous actions, but it seems likely that he wants something more.
Could he still be working with Meena to destroy the couple?
She may have something over him that she is using as blackmail to ensure he helps her sabotage the big day.
With the serial killer growing more dangerous, Alex might attempt to crash the wedding to stop Meena from doing anything herself.
Will Dawn be able to get to the bottom of things?
It’s possible Alex will end up issuing her with a warning about the dangerous Meena, and advise her to put off the wedding.
But with Dawn finally happy with Billy, she’s unlikely to allow Meena to spoil it for her.
Will Dawn’s big day be ruined by Alex, or does something more sinister await her from the evil nurse?
Emmerdale continues on Monday at 7pm on ITV.
