The ‘Shape of You’ singer, 30, recently tested positive for COVID-19 and is isolating at his home in Suffolk. The musician’s one-year-old daughter Lyra also contracted the virus, Ed announced earlier this week. Ed said he and his daughter are now spending 10 days apart from his wife of two years, Cherry Seaborn. The singer, whose new album ‘=’ was released yesterday, was due to appear on Saturday Night Live’ before he announced he had caught COVID-19.
Organisers are now trying to find another musical guest to replace the singer.
Ed has confirmed that he will still appear on ‘The Jonathan Ross Show’ on ITV1 tonight, albeit via video link.
Host Jonathan Ross said Ed would appear live on Zoom from a pub he built in his home on his Suffolk estate.
The presenter told The Sun: “We were supposed to have Ed Sheeran on but he’s got COVID so obviously can’t.
“We are going to do a live Zoom from his pub at home, which is the first time we’ve seen inside his pub.”

Jonathan’s other guests include Nile Rodgers, John Barnes, Hannah Waddingham, Will Poulter, with music from James Arthur.
Ed’s incredible musical career and charity work bagged him an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) back in December 2017.
However, his acceptance of the honour from Prince Charles did not go as planned.
The singer broke royal protocol by touching the heir apparent on the arm as he shook his hand and collected his honour.
Ed opened up about his encounter with Britain’s future king on NBC’s ‘Today’ show.
He admitted that he “shook the prince’s hand and talked to him for a little bit”.
He added: “Apparently, I did a big faux pas, though. I shook his hand and then grabbed it and you’re not meant to do that.”
However, the faux pas did not spoil the occasion, and Clarence House – Charles’ official residence – even tweeted a quote from Ed.
It quoted the singer as saying: “My grandfather… he died on this day four years ago, so it’s actually quite a nice full circle thing, I guess he’d be pretty proud.”

Ed has had other notable interactions with members of the Royal Family.
He recently appeared at the Earthshot Prize launched by Prince William, the Duke of Cambridge last year.
The musician performed his new song ‘Visiting Hours’ at the awards ceremony at Alexandra Palace earlier this month.
He and other celebrities, including Emma Watson, were also spotted chatting to William and his wife, Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge.
The year before receiving his MBE, Ed was also famously cut with a ceremonial sword by Princess Beatrice.
The Queen’s granddaughter allegedly sliced the singer’s cheek open with the weapon as she performed a mock “knighting” of James Blunt at a party.
The story, however, has been variably confirmed and denied by the people who were there.
‘The Jonathan Ross Show’ is on ITV1 on Saturday from 10pm-11:05pm.
