ED Sheeran wants to buy the last three homes around his £3.7 million Suffolk estate to complete Sheeranville.
The 29-year-old singer, who is worth £200 million, already owns five homes- but there are more that he hopes to snap up.
Two bungalows and a larger two-storey home with huge gardens are in the middle of his estate – notably between Ed's properties and his idyllic lake.
The Sun Online can reveal that Ed is desperate to complete his sprawling estate, and has let his three neighbours know that he would like first refusal if they do decide to sell.
An insider from the sleepy Suffolk village explained: "The homeowners know that Ed will give them the best price if and when they decide to move on.
"The homes are right in the middle of Ed’s land on the main road, so it will just neaten everything up if he can get his hands on all three over the coming years."
The source added: "The gardens of the homes jut into the middle of fields owned by Ed and mean that he must take the long way round if he wants to visit a lake on at the far edge of his property."
The Sun Online have contacted Ed's rep for comment.
Over the years, Ed has faced a barrage of objections over schemes for his collection of homes close to the Suffolk town he grew up in – including building a swimming pool, lake, two-storey treehouse, and even a pub.
He bought his first home in the site, a new build, for almost £900,000 back in 2012 – and the most recent property was added last year when he paid £875,000 to buy out next-door neighbour Sharon Jest, who had often objected to his ongoing construction work.
In 2018, she'd insisted "enough was enough" when the Shape Of You hitmaker applied to build a 32ft chapel in the 16-acre grounds.
Sheeranville is just one of the properties that Ed owns, with his portfolio also including a £20million house in London's trendy Notting Hill, plus the two properties that neighbour his restaurant Bertie Blossoms on Portobello Road – which set him back £4million and £1.5million.
In total, he owns 22 properties in London in addition to his Suffolk pads – and it was revealed in May that he bought each of them with cash because he didn't want to take out a string of mortgages.
An insider previously said: "He has a great portfolio of properties and he owns the lot free and clear. There was no need to borrow the cash from a lender because he already had it.
"Some people have the cash tied up so need to raise a mortgage but Ed has piles of the cash in the bank so there was no point in letting a bank earn money by lending him the money. He just bought them outright."
Ed's £57million property empire is a far cry from his life as a busker in London, where he admitted he'd often find himself homeless for the night – so he'd catch up on sleep on the London Underground.
In his book A Visual Journey, the star shared: "I didn’t have anywhere to live for much of 2008 and the whole of 2009 and 2010, but somehow I made it work.
"I knew where I could get a bed at a certain time of night and I knew who I could call at any time to get a floor to sleep on. Being sociable helped. Drinking helped.
"I spent a week catching up on sleep on Circle Line trains. I’d go out and play a gig, wait until 5am when the Underground opened, sleep on the Circle Line until 12, go to a session – and then repeat.
"It wasn’t that bad. It’s not like I was sleeping rough on the cold streets."
