EastEnders is set for emotional scenes next week as Freddie Slater's emotional past is explored on the hit BBC One soap.

In the upcoming scenes, Freddie finds himself double booked with two dates for the same evening as he panics whether he can pull it off.

And things go from bad to worse when he muddles up his dates to which Jean Slater upsets Freddie when she questions his intelligence.

Later, a guilty Jean tries to convince Freddie to confront his old teacher Mr Hawthorne for humiliating him at school.

Freddie is initially reluctant but after speaking with Bobby Beale, decides to seek closure and heads to his old school with Bobby, Jean and Harvey Monroe in tow for moral support.

Later, Freddie is proud of himself for standing up to Mr Hawthorne… will there be more of Freddie's past explored and how will Mr Hawthorne react?

Freddie made his debut on Albert Square last year and is played by Bobby Brazier.

The 19-year-old, who is the son of the late Jade Goody, made his arrival in autumn as the "chaotic" Freddie.

The model, whose father is Jeff Brazier, said at the time of joining the BBC One soap: "I’m really excited to be joining the cast of EastEnders – so far it’s been perfect.

"Everybody has been so beautiful to me and made settling in easier than I could’ve hoped.

"Stepping into the acting world has always been a vision of mine and doing that with EastEnders as a Slater is a blessing, I'm very grateful.

"Loving every minute of Freddie so far and can’t wait to see what’s in store for him in Walford."

While Chris Clenshaw, Executive Producer, added: "Freddie Slater is a chaotic 18-year-old with a sensitive soul.

"A modern-day lad who’s in touch with his spiritual side. He’s philosophical, accepting, but full of mischief and makes mistakes.

"Bobby is an amazing young addition to the EastEnders cast who brings heart and humility to the role of Freddie Slater and I can’t wait for audiences to get to know him."

EastEnders continues on Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One.
