EASTENDERS fans are in tears of joy after Ben Mitchell finally told boyfriend Callum Highway that he loved him.

The gangster – who is played by actor Max Bowden in the BBC soap – has been struggling with his emotions for months but finally managed to open up last night.

After weeks of ups and downs with Ben pushing Callum away over his partial hearing loss, he finally realised that he would lose Callum if he continued.

So when Callum told Ben how he wasn't going to leave him no matter what, Ben plucked up the courage to admit how he really feels.

Callum told him: "Maybe you won’t be like this forever, maybe the operation will work but you are like this now and if your dad doesn’t want to know then he doesn’t deserve you.

"Because who you are Ben is amazing, dealing with all this is amazing.

"You’re stronger than him or Danny could ever be. You might always be deaf for the rest of your life but that is OK. If your dad can’t be there for that then I am."

A clearly emotional Ben replied: "I love you."

Callum then signed it back to him and the pair sealed their relationship with an early evening romp and fans couldn’t have been more pleased.

One wrote: "Signed, sealed, and delivered. It’s true love, for both Ben and Callum.#ballum"

A second said: "Ben's "I love you" and Callum's "I love you" in sign language was so worth the wait Blue heartBlue heart #ballum #BallumILoveYou"

Another added: "callum signing “i love you” to ben yes that’s me crying"
