Monsters have always been an integral element of Doctor Who and in trailers for the upcoming series a few new creatures have been teased – but Jodie Whittaker has said that there is one which gave her co-star Bradley Walsh a fright. But is it one of the classic villains or one from the new batch of adversaries?
Doctor Who returns on New Year’s Day and is out to give viewers a shocking start to 2020, with a raft of villains old and new ready to clear sofas across the country.
Jodie Whittaker, Toisin Cole, and Mandip Gill have been talking about the new run and what is lurking in the episodes, which made them recall an incident which spooked co-star Bradley Walsh.
Those more nervous fans of the show may want to ready themselves for something which is on its way to creep into our nightmares.
It’s a beast so worrying, even the cast claim they were bothered by it.

In an interview with the Radio Times, Jodie Whittaker, Toisin Cole, and Mandip Gill discussed what The Doctor, Ryan, and Yaz will be facing in their next set of adventures.
For them, there’s one foe which is head and shoulders (if it has head and shoulders) above the rest when it comes to shocks.
When asked if they have a favourite new creature they all agreed and Jodie said: “I think we’ve all got the same one.”
“There’s one that’s really scary,” says Mandip, while Jodie expanded on why it’s her favourite.
“I think it’s my favourite – for fear factor.”
“I was proper shook,’ said Toisin, while Mandip explained why it was easier to be more frightened by this particular character.
“There was a monster that was actually there, so we didn’t have to lie this time and it’s really scary,” referring to the actors’ need to react to non-existent CGI monsters.
Jodie then shared an incident from the set which may still be fresh in Bradley Walsh’s mind.

Jodie admits she found working with them intimidating, though they didn’t make her run away.
