DANCING On Ice 2023 will kick off later this month and will feature shorter episodes for the first time, The Sun can reveal.

The skating show is set to return to screens on January 15.

ITV have officially confirmed it will launch on a Sunday night in its usual time slot at 6:30pm on ITV and ITVX.

But this year the series is reduced to 90 minutes per episode.

An insider said: "Half the contestants will skate the first week, then the others will skate the second week – as in previous years."

Fans were delighted to hear there would be more action packed into a shorter show when the news circulated on Twitter.

One said on Twitter: "That’s better.. less show filler or extra advert then!"

Another said: "This sounds way better. Cut out the filler and just give us the dances and the scores. The old way was so slow and broke up with ad breaks too much."

A total of 11 celebrities will perform alongside professional ice skating dancers in a bit to be crowned the winner of the 15th series.

Former EastEnders actress and DJ Patsy Palmer, Olympic bronze medal-winning gymnast Nile Wilson, ex-footballer John Fashanu, Love Island winner Ekin-Su Culculoglu, Coronation Street actress Mollie Gallagher will compete for the trophy alongside ex Towie star Joey Essex, RuPaul's Drag Race UK star The Vivienne, and West End musicals performer Carley Stenson.
