JILL Duggar’s husband Derick Dillard revealed they have been banned from parents Jim Bob and Michelle’s home after accusing the patriarch of taking their Counting On money.
Derick, 30, made the shocking admission in the comments section of a Christmas post on Instagram.
Derick admitted they are “not allowed” at the home when “[Jim Bob] isn't there.”
He continued: “Jill even had to ask JB permission to go over to the house to help her sister when she was in labor because her sister wanted her help, but Jill couldn’t provide the assistance until we got it cleared with JB.”
Derick and Jill, 28, opted out of spending Christmas with her family, as they celebrated the holiday with friends.
When a fan asked why they are never at their parents’ house, Derick responded it's because they are “not on ‘Counting On’ anymore.”
He explained: “We’ve only made guest appearances over the years for wedding, birth etc. We’ve never had any contact with TLC, hence not knowing there was a contract.”
The father-of-two boys then explained how he and Jill were under the impression that the Duggar kids and spouses “didn’t make any money from the show.”
He wrote: “But rather, it was presented to us kids as something that was done as a ministry that TLC periodically subsidized in the form reimbursements for things like gas, restaurants, travel, etc… but not any actual pay on top of that.”
He revealed Jim Bob is the "only one with a contract.”
Derick then explained how they were made to believe they would “be sued” if they refused to film.
When asked over Twitter if they would ever return to the TLC series, Derick replied: “No chance of that unless something changes.
“The conditions we were filming under took us to the brink of sanity and could have easily destroyed our lives if we had continued that trajectory. We are now trying to pick up the pieces.”
Despite the comments, Derick shot down a family feud by writing: “No hard feelings. There are just more things we are aware of now. The truth will always set you free.”
Derick first made claims that the Duggar kids are “volunteers” of the show back in 2018.
He then hinted the couple may take legal action against the network.
He tweeted in November 2019: “@TLC has issues. They begged us not to [quit] filming, but then didn’t want to talk directly with us about why.
“If money is all they care about, then it’s going to catch-up with them–you must care about ppl. All I’ve got to say is, they better lawyer-up, b/c a storm is inevitable.”
Derick is currently in law school.
